Description
Meiji EMX extended working distance microscope head with 10x eyepiecesand Waldmann articulated arm with mount for Meiji microscope.
The EMX head allows extended working distance under the microscope and
has a magnification of 5x or 10x (with 10x eyepieces). You can read about it on-line.
I'm an electrical engineer and this allows room for working on circuit
boards while looking though the microscope. In the first photo the microscope
is focused on the table and the distance between the bottom of the objective
and the table is about 8". That is really helpful !
The Waldmann arm has built in lamps that can be turned on and off from a switch
on the arm or individually on the lamp head. The lamps can be moved around.
The microscope head can be rotated and locked in place so you can have the arm
mounted on the back of the table or on the side. You focus by moving the arm up
and down. It's not difficult because the magnification is only 5x or 10x.
Rotate the bottom turret to change between 5x and 10x.
I have two Meiji EMX microscopes. This one was barely used and spend most of its time packed
in a box. It is in very nice condition. A few minor nicks here and there but almost looks new.
I attached an aluminum plate to the bottom of the Waldmann arm to make it easy to clamp
it to a table using a C-clamp.
The original (black) table clamp is included
if you prefer to use that.
Of course you can also mount the arm directly to the table. It works better if you don't have table
clamp too far from the head. If the table is too wide you have to increase the tension knob to get
head to stay up.
