    Description

    T
his Real Photo Card of the "Black Duck Band".  Ed Novotney and his family lived in Narka Kansas and are mentioned or shown in many of the cards in this set that I have posted.  I found a reference of the "Black Duck Band" in the research but nothing else.  This is the second "Black Duck Band" card that I have posted and has "Novotney" written on the reverse.
This and the others in the lot were published between 1907 and 1917, dated by the Velox stamp box or 1904 to 1917 by the
AZO stamp box. The card has some damage, a bend top to bottom middle and a bent bottom right corner.  The image has some staining but is generally presentable as is the reverse.
    N
arka is a city in Republic County, Kansas with a population of 94 in 2010.  It was founded in 1887 and was named for the daughter of a railroad employee.  The first post office was established in 1887 and Narka was incorporated in 1894.
The colors on the card may vary due to the scanner settings and screen projections.
Unless otherwise noted, I use Wikipedia, Playle's and Metropostcard for research and try to be as accurate as possible.  Corrections appreciated.
