    Olympus IX73
    Inverted (double deck)
    Current Product Line
    Phase Contrast 10x/20x/40x
    DIC 20x/40x/60x
    Fluorescence Microscope
    Main Features:
    Frame p/n IX73P2F.
    Double deck – Expansion Capability.
The two-deck system gives more flexibility. It also allows the simultaneous mounting of two illumination units.
The upper deck is already mounted with a fluorescence turret module, IX3-RFACS.
The lower deck is open and can be used for optional (not included) modules such as additional side ports, magnification changers, etc.
Current Product Line. All parts are available from Olympus.
Objective lenses with maximum flexibility: Both Long Working Distance and Cover Slip Thickness capability.
Easy adjustment of correction collar to adjust for various thicknesses.
Correction collar is present on 20x, 40x, and 60x lenses.
    Phase Contrast configured on: 10x/20x/40x.
    DIC configured on: 20x/40x/60x.
Right hand mechanical stage. p/n IX2-SFR.
    Trinocular Head - Photography Capable:
Photography port on side of frame.
Internal prisms split the light between the eyepieces and the side photo Port: 100% eyepieces/split/100% camera.
    Binocular head p/n U-BI90CT.
Eyepieces: WH10X-H/22 (with diopter) and WH 10X/22.
Rubber Cupping Eye-Guards. These are good for blocking external light to enhance the fluorescence viewing.
DOES NOT INCLUDE CAMERA OR CAMERA ADAPER. Camera is shown in images to demonstrate that one can be connected.
    Differential Interference Contrast (DIC) Microscopy:
This is a fully loaded DIC configuration.
    DIC Magnifications:
20x (0 - 2 mm. Long working distance and 0.17 mm coverslip thickness).
40x (0 - 2 mm. Long working distance and 0.17 mm coverslip thickness).
    60x (0.11-0.23 mm coverslip thickness).
We tested the DIC on all configured magnifications and obtained excellent textbook quality relief type images for each. Everything works as it was designed to.
DIC is a microscopy technique that gives relief-like images, especially with thick specimens. The 3D effect enhances visualizing structures in thick specimens better than phase. Thick specimens normally are not imaged well in phase contrast. This microscope is capable of imaging in relief or pseudo darkfield, depending on how you adjust it.
With DIC, you are limited to use of glass holders. If you need to use plastic holders, then we can provide a unit with PlasDIC instead.
    Phase Contrast Microscopy:
    Phase Magnifications:
    10x (all common thickness).
20x (0 - 2 mm thickness adjustable via correction collar).
40x (0 - 2 mm thickness adjustable via correction collar).
Phase contrast annuli were properly centered with the phase objectives. Excellent quality phase contrast microscopy was achieved.
We are including the needed tools for centering the phase annulus rings.
This unit also has the required lens for viewing the rings during alignment.
    Fluorescent Illumination:
HBO 100 Lamp Housing and External Power Supply with included 100W Mercury Bulb.
Luminous Field Iris Diaphragm on epifluorescence light path.
    Shutter for epifluorescence illumination.
    UV Shield for Protection.
    Fluorescence Dichroic Filters:
    8-Place Rotary Reflector Module Turret.
Four included reflector modules: DAPI, FITC, TexasRed (front sticker says TRITC), YFP.
These dichroic filters were all tested and produced excellent expected results.
    Transmitted Illumination:
Rotary Turret style light Condenser with phase contrast and DIC settings.
High Numerical Aperature. 0.55 N.A. Better for obtaining higher resolution images, especially with the higher power magnifications.
Condenser has Settings for: Ph1, Ph2 and DIC (3).
    Condenser Iris diaphragm.
Koehler Field Diaphragm. Proper Koehler illumination and centering were obtained.
12V-100W Halogen lamp housing p/n U-LH100L-3 with two spare bulbs.
External transformer for halogen light. TH4-100. This is 100/110 VAC. If you need 220/240 VAC, let us know.
Includes control cable so halogen light can be controlled from the front of the microscope or optionally, from the external power box.
    Swing-out filter holders.
One swing-out filter holder has an IF 550 Interference Green Filter. This is useful for phase contrast.
The other swing-out filter holder has a frosted diffuser.
Note: This has the IX2-ILL100 upper arm, not the standard IX3-ILL100. However, this arm does fit fine and has the proper alignment. It only uses two mounting screws instead of four. If you prefer to have the IX3-ILL100, we can order that from Olympus for an extra cost.
    Objective Lenses:
    6-Place Objective Nosepiece.

    Terms and Conditions
    Objective Lenses - Condition:
All objectives have been professionally cleaned.
All are guaranteed to be free from optical defects. If any defect is found, it will be clearly noted in the ad.
Our inspection of the objective lenses includes checking for the following:
lens cracking, pitting, lens cement not intact, internal oil damage or oil seepage, glass fogging, glass hazing, stains on optical glass, mold or mildew stains, and delamination (separation of internal lenses).
    Condition of Equipment:
This reconditioned microscope is complete and in excellent working order and has been completely checked out and serviced.
    Technical Sales and Support:
Most offerings of used microscopes are by simple flippers of equipment who have obtained defective and rejected microscopes from labs discarding the equipment. They resell exactly what they got, as they got it, and without any technical knowledge of it. You can rest assured when purchasing from us that we are professional dealers who are well trained to service and provide technical support of the microscopy equipment. We test, repair and refurbish all equipment to excellent working conditions. We are well trained and able to give you technical advice including pre-sale and post-sale support.
Microscope Training – Setup Support and Assistance:
Concerned about how to set up and operate this equipment? Need training?  We can help. Contact us for more details.
    Free Application Evaluation and Recommendation:
We strongly encourage all potential buyers to first contact us with regards to their specific application. In most situations, we need to customize certain features of the microscope in order to best fit the end user’s technical requirements. We want to ensure you have the correct and optimal configuration for your application.
    Fluorescence Filter Sets - Customized:
We are dealers of both Chroma and Omega brands (Made in USA) of dichroic filters. Please contact us regarding the specific fluorophores you are using so we can be sure the filter sets provided are a proper match. Incorrect matching will give you poor quality or no visible fluorescing.
    Customs Duty and Tax:
Any and all customs brokerage, customs entry, VAT and duty/tax are the responsibility of the buyer.
    Voltage Requirement:
Our equipment may show 110V and/or 220V external power supplies. Some power supplies are not Volt selectable. Depending on your country of final destination, and the Voltage supply, we may need to change the power supply shown in the ad to one that matches your power requirements. Contact us first with your Voltage requirement so we can be certain we have the required power supply if it needs to be changed from what is shown in the ad.
