You might notices what looks like some wear or dirt on the bottom (see closeup photo); it's actually some light marks of the gold glaze. There is also a very faint blue spot at 2:00 in the white part of the front, which is in the glaze and original to manufacture

    A vintage decorative plate from W.S. George, featuring the famous "Courting Couple" (based on Fragonard's 18th century paintings) with elaborate gold filigree and encrusted gold rim on the W.S. George "Lido" shape. The mark on the back is for "Lady Hamilton China," which Lehner's Encyclopedia identifies as being made by Cronin China, but this plate has a faint back stamp for W.S. George behind the gold mark for Lady Hamilton China.
    This plate is in very good condition. There are no chips, cracks, or crazing, and no utensil marks or scratches. The gold trim is very intact, with just a couple of signs of wear. You might notices what looks like some wear or dirt on the bottom (see closeup photo); it's actually some light marks of the gold glaze. There is also a very faint blue spot at 2:00 in the white part of the front, which is in the glaze and original to manufacture. The plate measure 9.5 inches wide and makes a terrific colorful display.
    The
    plate has two marks. One is a faint green mark for "Lido | W.S. George | Made in U.S.A. | 1770." The second mark is a large round gold logo for "Lady Hamilton China | Warranted | 22 Kt. Gold."
